FAQ regarding the German courses
What is the minimum age for attending the German courses?
You can participate in the German courses from the age of 16 onwards. In exceptional cases, participants aged 15 will be accepted.
Do all teachers speak German as their mother tongue?
All teachers are native German speakers. We consider this essential for your learning progress.
What is the size of the course groups?
In our level courses at school (e.g. intensive course A2.1, evening course B1.1, etc.) the lessons take place in groups of 7 – 15 participants. In all other group courses (all online courses, specialization courses such as conversation or grammar) the maximum group size is 6 – 12.
How can I register for the German course?
You can register for the German course(s) either online on the website or in the office of Deutschothek Language School. No registration fees are levied.
How does the placement work?
The course system of Deutschothek is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Do you have previous knowledge yet? Based on our professional placement test we find the most suitable course level for you. Course consultation and the placement test are for free. Which course material is used in class?
In the intensive course, the evening course and the semi-intensive course you work with a course book from A1.1 to C1.2 level as well as with your teacher’s own material. The course book for your German class can be purchased at Deutschothek Language School or at bookstores and costs 25,00 €. In the integration courses the course book is included in the course fee. In all other courses (e.g. conversation courses, Grammar courses, the course for Business German, Bridge course B2) a course book is not required and you work with your teacher’s own material. These photo copies and other material are included in the course price and you do not need to pay extra.
What do I receive at the end of the German course?
On request, we are happy to provide you with a course confirmation.
How can I take part in the courses if I have special needs?
We are happy that you are interested in our courses and we will do everything within our means to enable you to participate in the course. If you have special needs, the best is to contact us in advance by phone or email, so that we know how we can optimally respond to your needs and organize everything necessary (e.g. that an employee already waits for you with a mobile ramp upon your arrival).
